IDENTIFYING THE BEST RN RECRUITING COMPANIES.
Good RN recruiting companies are always there but some times difficult to be identified by many. Relocating to United States of America to practice registered nursing must start from the beginning. And that is you, the decision maker and the dreamer! You will also need a couple of resources, material and human, to support this big dream. Assigning a good RN recruiting company to do the administrative work for you is so crucial; unfortunately most people prefer to handle everything all by themselves. Few have done so successfully, mostly with support from families in USA, but not without some difficulties and unnecessary delays. What about if you have no relative or friend in USA? Thus, I recommend that you let the experts carry the administrative yoke so you can have much time for your studies. That is their field! You can get good sponsorship package from well established agencies. They are staffed with great and very supportive professionals. Most of them have branches all over the world. They are well recognized by the embassies and other institutions that matter in your moving to US. Let me divert a little to tell you my own experience with a very reliable and great recruiting company. I had attended my visa interview that morning very optimistic of receiving my immigrant visa. With no apparent reason, the councilor rescheduled me for another interview in 3 months. My agency and I were disappointed. All arrangements and plans for my arrival in US had to be canceled. Then the officer in-charge of nurses’ immigrations at my RN travel agency contacted the embassy by email. My RN travel agency was even ready to hire an immigration attorney to protest the postponement of my interview. A couple of days later, my former boss and co-workers got to know I would be relocating to USA. Apparently, the embassy had tried to reach me through them. That was after receiving the email from my travel agency. My name was all over the work place. Everyone was trying to contact me. Few co-workers were apprehensive and scared. They did not understand why the US embassy should be looking for me. Visa racketeering is a serious crime in my country. Finally, the embassy got in touch with me on my cell phone, but missed me. I had been sleeping all day. Tired and hypnotized from the disappointment. I got up in the middle of the night only to see about five missed calls, same number, on my phone. I called back and was greeted with “you have reached the US embassy visa section …” Immediately, I called a friend, an employee at the embassy, and she told me I needed to come over the following day with my passport. At the embassy the next day, no need for another interview. And I had my immigrant visa issued the following day. So that is how far a reliable RN recruiting company which means well for its nurses can go. You will soon learn of the other types of companies, and benefits from the good ones. Now, how do you catch the eye of a good company? First, you got to be practicing with an active RN license. Most of these great recruiters will always prefer acute care setting registered nurses. They include ER RN, ICU RNs, medical surgical RN,and Telemetry RN. Some of these agencies will however settle for registered nurses working at home health , nursing educators, or public health departments on one condition:that they will move to the acute care setting. After turning in your application, many a RN travel agency will give you a 50-100 items assessment test. You must impress them in this test in order to proceed to the next stage of the recruiting process. This is followed by either a telephone or face to face interview. Few RN recruiting companies prefer that you sit and pass the English proficiency test before moving to the next stage of the enrollment. So that’s how a typical signing up exercise starts.
